That’s me above learning how to do a proper deadlift a few years ago with strength coach Diego Socolinsky.
I was 56 years old at the time and had learned the lift online a few months before.
For me, along with the bench press, the deadlift was the easiest of the four main lifts to learn.
The hardest was the squat, and that was the main reason why I went in for a coaching session at 5X3 Gym in Baltimore.
That day I met a 70 year old woman who was preparing for a lifting meet. She was tall and thin and I watched her press about 70 pounds over her head.
She had no desire to let the aging process take its toll and force her to use a walker or a wheelchair if she happened to live past 80.
She was a true Champion of Aging.
